Transforming Overeating Groups

Using The Tapas Acupressure Technique™
A 12-Session Group with Life-time Results

The Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT™) was compared to two other modalities and shown to be six times more effective for weight loss that lasts. (The results were published in Focus on Alternative and Complementary Therapies, 10.28-39.) TAT is a self-administered mind/body approach to restructuring the neuropathways that have been damage by repeated stress. Binge eating, overeating, yo-yo dieting and the feelings around these challenges are a tremendous sources of stress. During this group you have the opportunity to:

  • Join our Transforming Overeating GroupLearn the TAT and how to apply it to weight loss
  • Reduce cravings and triggers
  • Calm yourself and reduce stress
  • Make peace with food and your body
  • Stop blaming yourself for weight gain
  • Heal feelings of shame, resentment, guilt and anger around food and body image issues
  • Feel more joy

This group runs twice a year. Call 617.522.6611 or send us an emailto find out about the next Transforming Overeating Group.

Results of pre- and post-assessment questionnaire from four previous group members reveal a dramatically improved relationship with food and feelings and realistic weight loss. “Eating to soothe my feelings” was reduced by 50%. More results of the group are detailed in the article, Weight Loss That Lasts; A Group Program Offering New Hope for an Old Problem, and will be published in the February 2011 issue of NASW Focus Newsletter.
